About The Position

The position involves supervising all wagering policies of the Race & Sports books, ensuring compliance with AML & Title 31 procedures, and managing Sportsbook Operations personnel to maximize productivity. The role includes coaching and guiding staff, administering evaluations and performance reviews, and maintaining work schedules. Additionally, the position oversees personnel development, including hiring, training, and discipline, while developing and managing an operating plan to meet forecast goals. The supervisor must ensure adherence to betting limits, monitor competitors, and stay informed about legislative actions affecting the industry. Customer recognition and development are emphasized, along with ensuring departmental procedures meet regulatory requirements and provide security for company assets. The supervisor is also responsible for resolving disputes in compliance with house rules and local regulations.

Requirements

• Sports enthusiast
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with guests and employees
• Excellent verbal and written skills in English
• Ability to analyze financial statements
• Ability to explain wagering to new guests
• Ability to plan and execute departmental budget
• Excellent organizational skills
• Able to obtain a MS gaming license
• 2 years supervisory experience required
• College education with Financial or Business background preferred
• High school diploma or equivalent required

Responsibilities

• Supervises all wagering policies of the Race & Sports books
• Ensures all AML & Title 31 procedures are followed and tracked accurately
• Supervises the function of all personnel in Sportsbook Operations to ensure maximum productivity
• Coaches, guides, and instructs personnel in the proper performance of duties
• Administers evaluations, performance reviews, and merit compensation within established guidelines
• Maintains work schedules for assigned personnel
• Oversees personnel development including hiring, training, discipline, and administration of merit system
• Develops and manages operating plan to ensure operating expenses meet established forecast goals
• Ensures betting limits guidelines are followed
• Monitors competitors' practices and technological innovations affecting the Race & Sports book betting industry
• Ensures customer recognition and development are foremost duties for all personnel
• Ensures that departmental procedures conform to all regulatory requirements and provide maximum security for the company's assets
• Assures facilities and equipment are available and functioning properly
• Resolves any disputes by following posted house rules and working with local regulatory bodies to ensure compliance
