About The Position

The Dual Language Program Coordinator provides districtwide leadership, coordination, and oversight of Reynolds School District's English/Spanish dual language programs. The coordinator collaborates with school leaders, teachers, and community partners to ensure high-quality instruction, aligned curriculum, and culturally and linguistically responsive practices that support bilingualism, biliteracy, and high academic achievement. This position will lead the expansion of K-12 dual language programming to support positive, inclusive learning environments for diverse learners. The Dual Language Program Coordinator is supervised by the Director of Equity and Multilingual Education.

Requirements

  • Valid Oregon Administrator License or ability to obtain one.
  • Bilingual/biliterate in English and Spanish.
  • Master's degree in Education, Bilingual/Dual Language Education, Curriculum & Instruction, or related field.
  • Successful teaching experience (minimum 5 years), in bilingual/dual language programs.
  • Knowledge of bilingual and/or Spanish literacy curriculum and instruction.

  • Ability to effectively work with and respond to people from diverse cultures and backgrounds.
  • Meets the Teacher Standards and Practices Commission (TSPC) Standards for Competent and Ethical Educators (OAR 584-020-0000 to 584-020-0045).
  • Oregon Fingerprint and Criminal Background Check clearance
  • Valid Driver's License and evidence of insurability
  • Limited lifting of objects weighing 15-25 pounds is required
  • Input data at a computer terminal for up to 8 hours per day
  • Sit for long periods of time (up to 8 hours per day)
  • Stand, reach, and bend
  • Occasional exposure to outside weather conditions
  • Exposure to usually moderate noise level in the work environment
  • Working indoors for the majority of the work day
  • Occasional night duty is required

Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership for districtwide English/Spanish dual language programs, ensuring alignment with best practices and RSD strategic priorities.
  • Ensure cohesive program design, implementation, and fidelity across currently DLI schools and additional schools in the future.
  • Collaborate with school administrators to support staffing, master scheduling, student placement, and overall program effectiveness.
  • Apply and communicate district policies and state/federal guidance regarding dual language education.
  • Coordinate and collaborate with multiple departments to plan and implement regular DLI family engagement events across the district.
  • Lead development and alignment of curricula in English and Spanish, ensuring adherence to state standards and language proficiency targets.
  • Support teachers with unit planning, instructional strategies, and assessment practices aligned with the dual language program model.
  • Support adoption and maintenance of Tier I materials for the DLI program in both languages.
  • Analyze and report instructional, language, and multicultural proficiency data to support continuous program improvement.
  • Design, lead, and evaluate professional learning for DLI teachers, instructional assistants, and administrators focused on biliteracy and dual language pedagogy.
  • Provide coaching and support to dual language teachers through observations, feedback, and modeling of effective instructional practices.
  • Facilitate PLCs and cross-school collaboration to share best practices in dual language instruction.
  • Create and lead professional learning experiences for all DLI school staff to support cohesive, unified program implementation.
  • Coordinate bilingual communication, events, and resources for families, ensuring meaningful engagement and program understanding.
  • Serve as a liaison to community partners, cultural organizations, and higher education institutions.
  • Assist schools with ongoing student recruitment efforts to sustain strong program enrollment.
  • Administer and monitor grants related to multilingual education and ensure compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Manage budgets, resources, and program documentation.
  • Participate in hiring processes and supervise assigned staff.
