Your day to day as a DUAL DIAGNOSIS DISORDER SPECIALIST As a full-time Dual Diagnosis Specialist in our Program for Assertive Community Treatment (PACT) department, you will play a vital role in transforming lives by providing comprehensive substance abuse assessments, education, and counseling to clients in need. Your expertise will shine as you deliver crisis intervention and symptom assessment, empowering clients to develop essential recovery skills and embrace a substance-free lifestyle. Engage in assertive community outreach while assisting in the referral process to rehabilitation programs, ensuring that clients receive the support they require. To thrive as a Dual Diagnosis Specialist at Cumberland County Guidance Center, you will need a robust skill set that includes a Bachelor’s degree in a mental health-related discipline from an accredited institution, complemented by appropriate credentials as a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) or Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor (CADC). Your two years of post-certification experience working with chronically mentally ill and/or MICA consumers will equip you with invaluable insights and empathy needed for client interaction. This role demands flexibility, as you will work a 40-hour schedule that may include weekends, holidays, and on-call rotations. A valid New Jersey driver's license with a clean five-year driving record is essential for community outreach efforts.
