About The Position
Central State Hospital is seeking a full-time Dual Diagnosis Clinician. This position will primarily work Monday - Friday, 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM. Counsel patients in individual and group sessions with individuals with co-occurring substance abuse and mental illness so that they may successfully transition to community based treatment. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team of psychiatrists, psychologists, case managers, and nurses to plan and coordinate treatment, drawing on practice experience and patient needs. Assess, plan, treat, and record client progress with respect to treatment goals. Interview patients, review patient records, conduct assessments, or confer with other professionals to evaluate each patient’s treatment needs. Modify treatment plans according to changes in patient’s status. Educate patients and their families on co-occurring disorders and treatment considerations, as well as available community resources. Counsel or aid family members to assist them in understanding, coping with, or supporting the patient. Commit to continual professional development, including emerging best practices. Develop or advise on social policy or assist in community development. Other duties as assigned.
