About The Position

The Dual Chief Engineer serves as the strategic leader of the Engineering departments across two hotel properties, ensuring optimal building functionality, safety, and overall operational efficiency. This role has full responsibility for facility maintenance, asset protection, grounds upkeep, and compliance with brand standards, while supporting exceptional guest and associate experiences. This position oversees the development and execution of engineering strategies, preventive maintenance programs, and capital projects. The Dual Chief Engineer is responsible for managing departmental budgets, controlling expenses, and assisting with capital expenditures to protect long-term asset value and maximize return on investment for ownership and Newport Hospitality. Additionally, this role ensures compliance with all safety regulations and drives continuous improvement through innovation and efficiency. A key focus of this role is team leadership and development—fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, and high performance across both properties. The Dual Chief Engineer leads by example, ensuring engineering operations meet brand expectations, support customer needs, and enhance overall satisfaction. Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a similar role in the hospitality industry.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building systems and equipment.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the maintenance staff and oversee all repairs and ongoing maintenance tasks.
  • Develop and implement maintenance policies and procedures to ensure efficient operation of all equipment and systems.
  • Inspect and maintain the physical features of the property including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and grounds.
  • Coordinate with external contractors and vendors for specialized repairs and projects.
