The Senior Project Manager partners with an operational sponsor/leader(s) to assemble and manage a project team responsible for planning, organizing, overseeing activities, achieving project objectives, and securing resources for successful project completion. The projects managed are complex in nature, typically at the region or function level. This role coordinates with the Program Manager for projects part of a larger program and oversees all aspects of the Project Life Cycle. The Senior Project Manager is expected to proficiently manage 3 to 5 unique projects, assist other project managers in challenging situations, and mentor others. They are responsible for rigorously managing scope, budget, schedule, and risks, including developing mitigation strategies. The role also involves developing communication plans, providing transparency to stakeholders and leadership, validating financial forecasts, tracking actual value against expected results, and reconciling resources and expenses. The Senior Project Manager ensures the project team adheres to Intermountain-designated governance and processes, and that all projects undergo governance approval and prioritization. They may provide project supervisory oversight for Associate Project Managers and/or Project Managers, keeping their direct leader informed. Senior Project Managers specializing in a unique service area (e.g., information technology, construction management) apply specific technical skills to plan and deliver projects in that area.
