About The Position

The DTR Driver (Class A) makes an impact by arriving at specified daily scheduled starting time and is responsible for driving the vehicle in a safe and courteous manner per established Fleet Safety guidelines. The driver will load and unload products as required and ensure proper placement of products delivered to customers, rotating delivered products when necessary. Responsibilities include completing an inventory of designated products for required customers, returning all necessary paperwork including signed proof of deliveries, credit memos, and route summaries, and communicating all customer concerns to the Team Leader/Supervisor. The driver must maintain a professional relationship with all customers, review customer orders, verify invoice and delivered products for accuracy, and collect payment for deliveries when required. The driver is also responsible for ensuring the cargo area is at the proper temperature level, maintaining good housekeeping principles within the truck cab and cargo area, and reporting all mechanical problems to the Garage department. The position requires completing pre-trip and post-trip inspections, maintaining an Electronic Logging Device (ELD), and performing all duties in compliance with corporate and regulatory quality, GLP, and safety regulations. The driver will support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality and is accountable to the Turkey Hill Food Safety and Quality Principles. Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Valid and updated medical certification.

Responsibilities

  • Complete and return all necessary paperwork including signed proof of deliveries, credit memos, and route summaries.
  • Communicate all customer concerns to Team Leader/Supervisor.
  • Maintain a professional relationship with all customers.
  • Review customer orders and verify invoice and delivered products for accuracy.
  • Collect payment for deliveries when required and submit all payments received to the Route Settlement Office.
  • Ensure cargo area is at proper temperature level.
  • Maintain good housekeeping principles within truck cab and cargo area.
  • Report all mechanical problems to Garage department.
  • Complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections and forward copies to assigned location.
  • Maintain Electronic Logging Device (ELD) to log daily activity.
  • Perform all duties in compliance with corporate and regulatory quality, GLP, and safety regulations.
  • Support the development, implementation, maintenance, and ongoing improvement of the Safe Quality Foods (SQF) Food Safety and Quality.
  • Engage in cross-functional teams to define and implement process improvements.
