About The Position

Reporting to the Director, Merchandise Planning - Canada, as the DTC Planning Manager - Canada, you'll lead the planning function for our Canada Direct-to-consumer business. This San Francisco–based role is both strategic and hands-on—managing and developing a team of 3 planners while partnering with retail & ecommerce commercial teams, allocation, inventory management, merchandising, and brand environment teams. You'll drive alignment between forecasts and inventory strategies, shaping financial decisions and supporting long-term growth strategies. This role spans forecasting, commercial strategy, and trend response – demanding a mix of analytical rigor and stakeholder management. Work cross-functionally with merchandising, allocation, and inventory management to build bottoms-up sales and inventory plans that support financial strategy and inventory investments. Support the development of multi-year strategic and annual financial plans with financial and commercial partners. Drive alignment between top-down financial goals and bottom-up operational plans. Collaborate with merchandising, allocation, store planning, and brand environment to build an assortment architecture that drives productivity while meeting strategic merchandising goals and ensuring brand integrity. Lead a key segment of the Canada business; including Mainline, outlet, and ecommerce subchannels; while managing and developing a team of 3 planners to drive accountability and results, while building a positive team culture. Facilitate monthly planning reviews, support Open-to-Buy (OTB) management across subchannels, and volume alignment meetings with leadership to surface risks and opportunities and shape decisions. Work with allocation team to align inventory strategies to in-season execution. Own monthly forecasting: identify trends, risks, and growth opportunities to support business performance. Shape and implement in-season promotional strategies, lifecycle management, and dispersal of liable product. Collaborate with the Wholesale Planning Manager to align assortment strategies and ensure success across all channels in Canada. Travel to Canada regularly to stay close to the market and local commercial teams (store management and ecommerce) and as well as attending key go-to-market events in the States.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in economics, business, finance, merchandising, a related field or 9 years of relevant education and experience.
  • 7+ years of planning or strategy experience within the retail industry with a global omnichannel brand.
  • Passionate about driving continuous improvement in planning tools, processes, and systems to enhance accuracy.
  • Deep understanding in managing planning cycles across multiple channels (retail, ecommerce, omnichannel), retail economics, seasonal planning, product margins, and inventory dynamics.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills, and ability to implement new digital planning systems.
  • Proven experience in people management and team development.
  • Comfortable leading across levels and functions.
  • Experience with hybrid and remote teams important.
