About The Position

The Treasury Data Transparency & Strategy (DTAS) team at the Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City is seeking a Backend Software Developer to support the USASpending Team. This hybrid role involves working on-site in Kansas City, MO, for a minimum of 50% of the time. The successful candidate will leverage technologies such as Python, Databricks, PySpark, AWS Step Functions, and PostgreSQL within an AWS environment to enhance backend application processes. The role emphasizes strong technical skills, customer focus, and an understanding of the software development lifecycle (SDLC) within an Agile framework.

Requirements

• Typically requires 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) or a closely related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• In-depth knowledge in the discipline with the ability to perform work independently with limited supervision.

Responsibilities

• Apply software engineering principles to design, implement, configure, and optimize solutions for applications and databases.
• Demonstrate technical skill in programming languages such as Python and SQL.
• Perform peer reviews using software engineering principles and development guidelines.
