POSITION SUMMARY: The Passenger Boarding Bridge Technician (PBB) shall be responsible for the maintenance, repair and troubleshooting the following systems. Passenger boarding bridges, 400 Hertz ground power, 3 phase motor control systems, cabin air conditioning systems/PCA units, electronics, PLCs, VFD systems and portable water cabinets. In addition, but not limited to inspections, electrical components, limit switches, circuit boards, inverters, tires, gears, hydraulics pumps and cylinders and various peripheral equipment. Mentor, train and guide other employees with associated tasks. POSITION DESCRIPTION: Completes basic maintenance assignments involving but not limited to preventive and routine maintenance, corrective maintenance and emergency repairs, electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment calibrations, shift inspections, audits, cleaning, and any other task requested by the customer site and corporate management. Completing various electrical repairs and maintenance, including documenting work completed. Utilize computer skills including email, Microsoft Word and Excel, and CMMS computer workorder systems software Use of hand tools, power tools and meters for troubleshooting and repair of boarding bridges, pre-conditioned air units (PCAs), ground power units (GPU), portable water cabinets (PWCs) and any other boarding bridge associated ground support equipment. Recognize and diagnose abnormalities including but not limited to faulty parts, equipment, controls, gears, bearings, and equalization cable systems within the boarding bridge equipment. Ability to read and interpret electrical and hydraulic schematics as they relate to boarding bridges Familiarity with PLC controls and hydraulic systems controls for electro-mechanical troubleshooting. Working on the controls for HVAC systems and air handling units. Ability to understand refrigeration controls and power generation electronic components Takes direction and seeks the guidance and expertise of senior level personnel and accepts training and mentoring from them. Provides direction, guidance and expertise to personnel assigned to assist in maintenance and repair activities, conducts training and mentoring responsibilities; may act as lead in the absence of Sr. Technicians and/or supervisors. Works in tight and/or high spaces utilizing appropriate PPE and fall protection equipment. Follows and complies with all company, customer, and federally established policies and procedures. Successfully and continually completes and maintains all applicable training courses assigned by the company. Maintains all required certificates and licenses needed for performance of the work. Completes all required safety courses. Completes all required forms connected with work assignments according to established procedures. Compliance with all safety programs, policies, and procedures. Performs additional duties/assignments required by management.
