Requirements

  • Successfully pass criminal, driving, drug, and Orchards, the state background check each year.
  • Demonstrate reliability, initiative, and accountability in all aspects of the role
  • Maintain access to a smartphone or tablet for documentation and communication
  • Be computer literate and able to complete required documentation and online training
  • Complete a minimum of 24 hours of approved training annually
  • Hold valid in-person CPR/First Aid and Food Handler’s certifications prior to hire
  • Provide a dependable vehicle with valid insurance that meets 100/300/100 liability coverage requirements, with the Agency listed as an interested party for any changes to coverage during employment
  • Exhibit compassion, patience, and professionalism when supporting clients and families
  • Apply strong problem-solving skills and practical life abilities in everyday situations
  • Confidently deliver hands-on support, training, and guidance to clients with diverse needs

Responsibilities

  • Provide personalized in-home support with daily living tasks, personal care, and household management
  • Deliver life skills training aligned with individual client goals, fostering greater independence
  • Encourage and support communication skills, social interaction, and relationship building
  • Assist with medication reminders and administration in accordance with care plans
  • Schedule, coordinate, and accompany clients to medical, dental, and therapeutic appointments
  • Offer transportation, shopping assistance, and advocacy to support client needs and preferences
  • Promote community inclusion by engaging clients in local events, recreational activities, and volunteer opportunities
  • Support clients in navigating community resources, employment, and educational programs
  • Ensure safety, comfort, and dignity in all settings, whether at home or in the community
