About The Position

At Merakey, we are seeking a DSP/ Hospital Tripper/ Driver to join our team in our Crafton, PA locations. This position involves interacting professionally with medical staff, clients, and external facilities, while safely operating a variety of motor vehicles, including vans and buses. The role requires understanding and following the facility’s vehicle maintenance and operation policies, including the completion of daily logs. The driver must navigate streets, highways, and locations of single-family homes effectively, demonstrating knowledge of departmental and facility policies and procedures. Additionally, the position involves understanding personal hygiene and daily living activities as they apply to individuals with developmental disabilities, completing all required documentation accurately, and maintaining positive working relationships with residents and staff. The driver must also maintain a supportive attitude toward residents with developmental and physical disabilities, accurately recording and reporting behavioral observations, and communicating effectively using strong verbal and written skills. Physical demands include lifting, transferring, and carrying residents, typically exceeding 50 pounds, using proper techniques.

Requirements

  • Previous experience operating a variety of vehicles
  • Valid driver's license required
  • Related work experience preferred
  • High school diploma or GED
