About The Position

The Direct Support Professional (DSP) role at Golden Youth Services, LLC involves providing essential support services to youth with developmental disabilities. The DSP will work directly with vulnerable populations, helping them develop independent living skills and navigate challenging behaviors while engaging them in the community.

Requirements

• Must be 21 years old and able to pass a state background check.
• First-Aid/CPR certified within 90 days of hire.
• High school graduate or GED.
• 6 months experience working with vulnerable populations (children; elderly) or full-time experience working directly with vulnerable populations, or be attending classes at an accredited college or university related to caring for vulnerable populations.

Responsibilities

• Provide a full range of direct support services to individuals with developmental disabilities.
• Maintain knowledge of all state and federal regulations regarding social services for the developmentally disabled community.
• Provide direct service to members of the developmentally disabled community who exhibit challenging behaviors.
• Promote optimal development through the use of non-aversive interventions.
• Be knowledgeable in all aspects of individualized, team, and family supports.
• Promote an atmosphere of mutual respect where self-determination is fostered and encouraged.
