About The Position

AHRC New York City is seeking Full and Part-Time Direct Support Professionals (DSP) for their Adult Day Programs in All Five Boroughs. The position offers a pay rate of $17-$18 per hour, with possible bonuses depending on the needs of the program. The starting rate is $17 per hour, which increases to $18 per hour after 6 months if in good standing. Bonuses include $2,000 annually upon completion and passing of AHRC Defensive Driving class and $2,000 annually upon completion of AMAP training. The full-time schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 3:30pm, while the part-time schedule is Monday - Friday from 8:30am to 2:30pm. Requirements

• Personal and/or Professional experience working with individuals with disabilities is preferred.
• Knowledge of Home and Community Based Waiver, and the ability to keep up to date pertaining to such knowledge, and interpret same.
• Understanding of Person Centered Planning.
• Reasonable flexibility in work hours and ability to respond to the scheduling needs of the individual.
• Ability to establish and maintain a working relationship with program participants, families, staff and community agencies.
• Ability to communicate both orally and in written form in English.
• High School diploma or GED is required.

• Support individuals with disabilities in leading self-directed lives and becoming active members of their communities.
• Oversee all safety and health considerations.
• Promote skill development, interests, and hobbies.
• Assist with Adult Daily Living skills (ADLs).
