About The Position

MARC, Inc. is seeking a dependable Direct Support Professional - Day Floater who will be responsible for assisting persons with developmental disabilities in their daily morning activities and transporting to the day program where they will continue their shift in various day programs depending on need. This will include helping to develop natural supports and assist individuals with personal growth and reaching their goals. The ideal candidate will have compassion, previous experience assisting adults with special needs ,strong interpersonal and communication skills, as well as good judgment. Requirements: Must have a valid CT Driver's License and vehicle with current CT registration and insurance, as driving is a requirement of the position. Must have a High School Diploma. CPR, First Aid, PMT and Med Certification are preferred. Full-Time position available; Monday - Friday 6:00 AM to 2:00 PM ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: Support residents in waking up and getting out of bed in the morning Support residents with AM care; showering if needed, tooth brushing, shaving, hair combing, personal hygiene, dressing, etc. Dispense and pass medication Support resident with breakfast following dietary guidelines Programmatic documentation for those with AM programs and AM house documentation Complete AM house chores as specified; cleaning bathrooms, kitchen, bedrooms, laundry, etc. Supports residents in getting safely to the vehicle for AM transport and safely to the day program Floats in day service programs as needed Implements day service services which offer both daily community activities and center based activity options Participates in activities according to the individual preferences Prepares necessary reports and completes documentation as required by the agency and the State Department of Developmental Services Ensures accurate emergency fact sheet information and case record files for participants Utilizes Medisked for documentation Attends staff meetings, scheduled in-services, and specified individual meetings Assists in routine maintenance of Day Service van Administer proper supports to individuals in need of daily toileting routines and ADL skills Assists in agency Service Evaluation System Creatively plans and implements appropriate activities for all participants Administer medications to participants in a timely and accurate manner Performs other duties as designated by the House Manager or the Day Services Manager This job description is subject to change at the discretion of the House Manager or Day Services Manager. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of proactive thinking and positive supports. Ability to drive, have and use a personal vehicle in order to transport employees and/or self. Ability to obtain a public service license and keep personal auto liability insurance and registration. Ability to lift nonambulatory people and frequent sitting, walking, and driving. Knowledge of proactive thinking and positive supports. Must be able to complete all essential job duties, minimum qualifications, and physical efforts with or without a disability. PHYSICAL EFFORTS: Frequent sitting, walking, standing, and driving. Requirements
