About The Position

About Empowered Services Empowered Services provides one-on-one in-home and community-based support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). We hire and train Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) to provide dependable, personalized care, build independence, maintain routines, and help individuals stay connected to their communities in meaningful ways. Role Overview We are seeking an entry-level Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide consistent, full-time support for a young adult in the McMinnville, OR area. (No prior DSP experience required & paid training is provided.) This position is best suited for someone who is patient, gentle, and enjoys creating positive, engaging daily experiences . This is a highly routine-based role with a steady pace, ideal for someone who prefers consistency and meaningful one-on-one work. Primary Responsibilities Include Supporting daily routines and personal care needs Assisting with safe transfers and mobility Providing companionship and consistent interaction Supporting community outings and recreational activities Following safety protocols, including seizure response Schedule Fridays 8:30 am to 6:00 pm Schedule may vary slightly based on the individual’s needs Who You’ll Be Supporting You’ll be working with an individual who: Enjoys music, outdoor time, and community activities Likes walks, swinging, and sensory-based experiences Participates in outings like coffee stops and local activities Attends equine therapy and community groups Is nonverbal and benefits from consistent engagement and interaction She does best with a provider who can: Communicate through presence, tone, and consistency Provide gentle, steady support throughout the day Stay engaged and involved in shared activities Maintain a calm, structured environment What You’ll Do Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs), including hygiene and toileting Support safe transfers and positioning Provide supervision and follow seizure protocols as needed Remain observant during rest periods Engage in activities that promote enjoyment and connection Maintain a consistent, supportive daily routine Communicate with care teams and document as required Compensation & Benefits $23–$25 per hour (based on experience and qualifications) Paid training Flexible schedule based upon the customer Full-time employees (30+ hours/week) may be eligible for: Medical, Dental, Vision Insurance 401(k) with employer match Paid Time Off (PTO) Qualifications: Must be 18 years or older High school diploma or equivalent Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation Current auto insurance (meeting state requirements) Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying) Comfortable supporting personal care needs Preferred: Experience in caregiving, DSP, behavioral support, or IDD roles Experience supporting individuals with I/DD Strong communication and boundary-setting skills CPR/First Aid certification Why This Role Stands Out Relationship-focused, one-on-one support Predictable routine with engaging daily activities Opportunity to make a meaningful impact every day Apply Today If you are dependable, compassionate, and enjoy creating positive, structured experiences for others, we encourage you to apply for this DSP Caregiver position.

  • Ability to pass a background check (not all records are disqualifying)
