About The Position

The Equestrian Professional supports TERI’s equestrian program by assisting with therapeutic riding lessons and providing daily care for horses and program facilities. This role plays a key part in creating a safe, structured, and engaging environment where individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities can build confidence, develop skills, and experience the benefits of equine-assisted activities. Working closely with program leadership, the Equestrian Professional contributes to both client support and overall program operations through hands-on instruction, collaboration, and a commitment to safety, quality care, and meaningful impact.

Requirements

High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
Minimum five-years related horse experience.
Comfortable teaching basic riding skills.

Responsibilities

Perform stable management caring for horses and small animals.
Responsible for cleaning, upkeeping, repairing barn, stable and equipment.
Assist individuals during riding lessons by leading the horse, side walking, and/or stabilizing the individual, and providing assistance with mountain and dismounting.
Work with supervisor to provide basic riding plans.
Protects clients’ rights, safety, health, and welfare and best interest at all times.
