Requirements

  • Certifications and Education: Having a high school diploma or something equivalent is required. If you've been to culinary school or have relevant certification, even better! And don't forget your ServSafe or equivalent food safety certifications.
  • Culinary Expertise: Proven experience as a cook, preferably in a Senior Living facility, healthcare setting, or a similar environment. Strong culinary skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Adaptability: Flexibility to adapt to changing menus, resident preferences, and special dietary needs.
  • Team Player: We've a close-knit crew here, so being a team player is key! You'll be working with other kitchen staff and servers, so good communication and cooperation are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Excellence in Service: We are dedicated to providing the highest level of service to our residents. As a Cook, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on the lives of our residents through the meals you prepare.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef to create menus that meet the dietary needs and preferences of our residents. Consider special dietary requirements, including low-sodium, diabetic, and texture-modifies diets.
  • Sanitation and Safety: Adhere to all food safety and sanitation regulations, including HACCP principles. Maintain a clean and organized kitchen environment, ensuring all equipment is in perfect working condition.
  • Teamwork: We are a family and we work together as one cohesive team. Collaboration and communication among staff members are essential to creating a harmonious and supportive work environment.
