The Occupational Medicine Tech at SouthStar Urgent Care plays a crucial role in providing patient and client care services. This position operates under general supervision and is responsible for determining the necessary services based on the authorization forms provided. The tech prepares patients for examinations and treatments, ensuring that all procedures are conducted smoothly and efficiently under the direction of the Provider. This role is essential in maintaining the quality of care and ensuring that all patient interactions are handled with professionalism and care. In addition to direct patient care, the Occupational Medicine Tech is tasked with various administrative responsibilities. This includes managing client relations through email communication, reporting drug and alcohol test results to clients, and entering these results into the Drug Pak system. The tech is also responsible for filing Chain of Custody Forms (CCFs) in company folders and mailing employer copies of these forms. Ordering drug and alcohol collection supplies and CCFs for collection sites is another critical duty, ensuring that all necessary materials are available for testing. The tech will also handle client phone calls and donor results, providing timely and accurate information as needed. Other duties may be assigned as necessary to support the overall operations of the clinic.
