Requirements

  • Proven track record of successful outside sales experience within the commercial construction building products industry.
  • Strong knowledge of commercial building products, materials, and construction processes.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage with diverse clients and build rapport.
  • Self-motivated and driven to achieve and exceed sales goals.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively, prioritizing tasks and maintaining a disciplined sales approach.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software to manage leads, opportunities, and sales activities.
  • Ability to travel extensively within the assigned territory to meet clients and attend industry events.
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.
  • If operating a Company Vehicle, a valid driver’s license will be required.
  • Three to five (3-5) years in outside sales in commercial construction markets.
  • Building industry knowledge required.
  • Experience working with commercial construction companies required.
  • High School/Equivalent.

  • A bachelor's degree in business, marketing, engineering, or a related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for generating sales of our diverse range of commercial building products to prospective commercial construction clients.
  • The Commercial Outside Sales Rep will play a crucial role in expanding our commercial market presence, building strong client relationships, and achieving sales targets through direct sales activities and coordination with branch support teams.
  • Identify and target potential clients within the commercial construction industry to promote and sell our building products.
  • Conduct thorough market research to understand customer needs, preferences, and industry trends to tailor sales strategies effectively.
  • Develop and maintain a robust sales pipeline by identifying leads, qualifying prospects, and following up on opportunities.
  • Deliver compelling product presentations and demonstrations to highlight the features, benefits, and value propositions of our building products.
  • Collaborate closely with the internal sales team, branch management, product managers, and technical experts to ensure accurate product information is provided to clients.
  • Build and nurture strong, long-lasting relationships with clients by understanding their requirements and offering tailored solutions.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with clients, ensuring a win-win outcome for both parties.
  • Provide exceptional post-sales support, addressing client inquiries, concerns, and ensuring satisfaction.
  • Meet and exceed individual and team sales targets, contributing to the overall revenue growth of the organization.
  • Keep abreast of industry developments, competitive landscape, and emerging trends to identify new sales opportunities.
  • Communicate and coordinate proactively with Branch Support teams to ensure effective and successful support of material sales and deliveries, driving customer satisfaction and repeat business.
  • Any other duty, task, or responsibilities as assigned.
