We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dryer Operator to join our team in a dynamic food processing environment. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the efficient operation of dryer and evaporator machinery while adhering to food safety standards. This position requires strong attention to detail, a commitment to quality, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.

  • Safely complete the receipt, inspection, and processing of transferred liquid product through dryer and evaporator operations.
  • Operate dryer and evaporator equipment according to standard procedures.
  • Manipulate materials to and from tanks, clear clogs at bottom of cyclones and wishbone.
  • Change A/C filters in drop room; disassemble and clean all dryer system filters and atomizer equipment.
  • Operate odor control system, flow plate, and scrubber.
  • Troubleshoot dryer/evaporator issues and dumping/building of all beds/rotary valves.
  • Perform CIP (Clean-In-Place) process as per diagram layout.
  • Maintain housekeeping and cleanliness standards.
  • Complete process charts, related paperwork, and recording documents.
  • Efficiently operate and navigate ERP (AX System); locate and complete operations paperwork as required.
  • Reference and comply with SPF Quality Manual (Conform / Non-Conformance).
  • Knowledge and compliance of material, ingredient, and product code specifications.
  • Ability to calibrate, operate, and read thermometer, PH meter, and NIR gauges.
  • Fulfill HACCP standards; observe with GMP's.
  • Describe food safety risks (insects, leaks, product failures, foreign objects, micro contaminants).
  • Forklift Certification; hoist operation.
  • Scale verification and calibration.
  • Proficient use of production hand tools.
  • Ability to run touch panels and control screens.
  • Understand process flow and interaction of equipment.
  • Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Lock Out / Tag Out procedures.
  • Awareness of slip/trip/fall hazards.
  • Proper chemical storage and use; proper lifting techniques.
  • Safety event procedure; follow accident and incident reporting procedure.
  • Attend annual/monthly safety meetings as scheduled.
  • High school diploma or GED equivalent is preferred.
  • Experience in food manufacturing is preferred.
  • GMP, Hygienic Practices knowledge is preferred.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Unrestricted range of motion; self-motivated and team player.
  • Strong attention to product color variation, odor sensitivity, and texture.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
  • Basic math skills for measuring ingredients and maintaining production documentation.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods, climb stairs/ladders, work at heights, and lift up to 50 pounds as needed.
  • A positive attitude with a willingness to learn new skills in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic reading and comprehension skills.
