About The Position

The position involves operating dairy processing equipment and ensuring food safety and quality standards are met in a manufacturing environment. The role requires adherence to safety policies and procedures while performing various tasks related to the production of dairy products, including cheese and butter. Employees are expected to communicate effectively with supervisors and coworkers, maintain documentation, and assist in training new employees.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Report employee safety, food safety, and food quality issues to personnel of authority.
• Operate dairy processing equipment including triple evaporator, dryer equipment, and bagging equipment.
• Learn and execute startup procedures of equipment.
• Regulate factors such as composition of solids and temperature; make adjustments depending on the type of product to be produced.
• Take frequent readings and log variables.
• Unload and check chemicals upon delivery.
• Operate Clean in Place (CIP) procedures; troubleshoot and maintain machinery.
• Operate and clean all pieces of dairy processing equipment involved with the whey department.
• Communicate well between supervisor, other shifts, and departments.
• Verify quality control items such as product weights and samples.
• Maintain proper documentation in all formats of recordkeeping.
• Operate various machines at an efficient level to fulfill plant demands.
• Assist coworkers with tasks and duties within the department as assigned.
• Assist with general cleaning and housekeeping throughout the plant as needed.
• Assist with training new employees.
• Provide assistance to maintenance personnel for machine repairs or troubleshooting.
• Adhere to all Quality and Food Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
• Adhere to all Safety policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
• Adhere to all GMP policies and procedures, reporting any nonconformity.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
