About The Position

Purcell Municipal Hospital is seeking a full-time Drug Room Supervisor/IV Therapy Nurse Practitioner with Employee Health duties. Drug Room Supervisor/IV Therapy Nurse Practitioner (NP) key responsibilities: Order medications for use throughout various hospital departments. Input new hires into the PYXIS System and orient to PYXIS operations, to include BioID access. Collaborate with Pharmacist and Providers to order and maintain pay levels of medications on formulary. Print and reconcile reports for controlled substance usage. Investigate all discrepancies than concern controlled medication. Order varying equipment that may pertain to the administration of medications such as IV tubing, pill cutters, pill crushers, etc. Validate medication barcodes for scanning upon administration. Manage medication additions and omissions from PYXIS machine. Maintain competency pf PYXIS operations to ensure safe handling of all medications. Continuously monitor medication levels of MedSurg and ER PYXIS machines to ensure adequate medication levels are available for department usage. Removing and returning expired medications from pharmacy stock. Monthly check of medications within crash carts throughout the hospital. Collaborate with Oklahoma Board of Pharmacy and Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics to ensure state requirements for pharmacy are met or exceeded. Serve as a recourse for nurses any time questions arise about administration of medications. The Employee Health Nurse Practitioner (NP) provides comprehensive healthcare for employees, focusing on workplace injury/illness management, preventative care, wellness programs, and regulatory compliance, handling assessments diagnoses, treatments for acute/chronic work-related issues, pre-employment screenings, immunizations, and health education to ensure a safe, healthy workforce. Key duties involve managing medical care for staff, developing safety protocols, offering counseling, and maintaining detailed health records in an occupational setting.

  • Clinical Care: Conduct employee health assessments, manage acute and chronic work-related conditions, provide first aid/emergency care, order/interpret labs, prescribe medications, and coordinate follow up care.
  • Prevention & Wellness: Develop and lead wellness programs (e.g., flu shots, stress management, nutrition), conduct health screenings, and promote healthy lifestyles.
  • Injury & Exposure: Evaluate and treat work-related injuries/illnesses, manage exposures (like chemical or needlesticks), and clear employees for return-to-work.
  • Program Development: Assist in creating and implementing health policies, safety initiatives, and compliance with federal/state regulations.
  • Education & Counseling: Educate employees on health risks, preventative measures, and provide confidential counseling for health/psychosocial concerns.
  • Documentation & Reporting: Maintain accurate records of patient encounters (SOAP format), manage data, and complete required reporting
