About The Position

The position involves creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return. The role includes directing and supervising all functions, duties, and activities for the Drug GM department, supporting day-to-day operations, and embracing the Customer 1st strategy to encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Requirements

  • Minimum effective communication skills.
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.

  • Drug GM experience.
  • Retail experience.
  • Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).

  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment.
  • Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Drug GM department.
  • Support the day-to-day functions of the Drug GM operations.
  • Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Promote trust and respect among associates.
  • Communicate company, department, and job specific information to associates.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to achieve company/store goals.
  • Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet or exceed targets.
  • Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume throughout hours of operation.
  • Train and develop associates on job performance and participate in the performance appraisal process.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome, important, and appreciated.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Inform customers of Drug GM specials.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Understand the store's layout and be able to locate products.
  • Create and execute sales promotions in partnership with store management.
  • Prepare and submit seasonal critiques for the sales and merchandising supervisor.
  • Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
  • Monitor and control expenses for the department.
  • Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions.
  • Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes.
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the inventory process.
  • Reinforce safety programs by complying with safety procedures.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents.
  • Report all safety risks, or issues, and illegal activity.
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a high-paced and sometimes stressful environment.
  • Ability to manage conflict in a reasonable, nonconfrontational manner.
  • Provide support and assistance through direct interaction with minors, individuals with special needs, and/or older adults.
