About The Position

The position focuses on creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return. The role involves achieving sales and profit goals for the Drug/GM department, monitoring and controlling quality assurance standards, and supervising all functions and activities within the department. The candidate will support the day-to-day operations of Drug/GM, embrace the Customer 1st strategy, and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service. Requirements

  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Effective communication skills.

  • Any management/Drug-GM/retail experience.
  • Second language (speaking, reading and/or writing).

Responsibilities

  • Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Drug/GM department.
  • Support the day-to-day functions of Drug/GM operations.
  • Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering customer questions.
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
  • Collaborate with associates and promote teamwork to help achieve company/store goals.
  • Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
  • Develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process.
  • Establish performance goals for the department and empower associates to meet goals.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department and respond to questions.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items or products they inquire about.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Monitor and control expenses for the department.
  • Understand the store's layout and be able to locate products.
  • Create and execute sales promotions.
  • Inform and educate department associates about current, upcoming, and special in-store promotions.
  • Implement the period promotional plan for the department.
  • Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget and profit and loss reviews.
  • Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions and note discrepancies.
  • Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO).
  • Plan, organize, and supervise the inventory process.
  • Practice preventive maintenance by inspecting equipment and notifying management of repairs needed.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks or illegal activity.
