The position focuses on creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return. The role involves achieving sales and profit goals for the Drug/GM department, monitoring and controlling quality assurance standards, and supervising all functions and activities within the department.   • Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Drug/GM department.
  • Support the day-to-day functions of Drug/GM operations.

  • Create an environment that enables customers to feel welcome and appreciated by answering customer questions.

  • Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
  • Develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget and profit and loss reviews.
  • Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions.
  • Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO).
  • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks.
  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Effective communication skills.
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Any management/Drug-GM/retail experience.
  • Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).
