About The Position

The position involves creating an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service while establishing and maintaining a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return. The role requires achieving sales and profit goals for the Drug/GM department, monitoring and controlling quality assurance standards, and supervising all functions and activities within the department. The candidate will support day-to-day operations, embrace the Customer 1st strategy, and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service, all while demonstrating the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion, and safety.

Requirements

  • Ability to handle stressful situations.
  • Knowledge of basic math (counting, addition, and subtraction).
  • Effective communication skills.

Nice To Haves

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Any management/Drug-GM/retail experience.
  • Second language (speaking, reading, and/or writing).

Responsibilities

  • Create an outstanding customer experience through exceptional service.
  • Establish and maintain a safe and clean environment that encourages customer return.
  • Achieve sales and profit goals established for the department.
  • Monitor and control all established quality assurance standards.
  • Direct and supervise all functions, duties, and activities for the Drug/GM department.
  • Support the day-to-day functions of Drug/GM operations.
  • Embrace the Customer 1st strategy and encourage associates to deliver excellent customer service.
  • Communicate company, department, and job-specific information to associates.
  • Develop adequate scheduling to manage customer volume during hours of operation.
  • Develop associates on performance of their job and participate in the performance appraisal process.
  • Adhere to all local, state, and federal laws, and company guidelines.
  • Gain and maintain knowledge of products sold within the department.
  • Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
  • Develop and implement a department business plan to achieve desired results.
  • Assist store management in preparing the store/department budget and profit and loss reviews.
  • Maintain an awareness of inventory/stocking conditions.
  • Schedule daily, weekly, and monthly price changes by updating shelf tags and promotional signs.
  • Train department associates on inventory/stocking and Computer Assisted Ordering (CAO).
  • Practice preventive maintenance by properly inspecting equipment.
  • Notify management of customer or employee accidents and report safety risks.
