Summary Leads comprehensive investigations into suspected drug diversion incidents and communicates targeted prevention strategies to staff. Partners with organizational leadership and external law enforcement agencies to proactively identify, evaluate, and address risks associated with diversion and related security issues.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 10 years experience conducting investigative interviews to obtain detailed information related to incidents and criminal activity, preferably with a focus on controlled substance cases and 10 years experience in evidence collection, comprehensive report writing, and collaboration with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies and 10 years operational experience in law enforcement, including surveillance, case development, and enforcement procedures.
  • Ability to work with interruptions, changing priorities, and activity in the work environment.
  • Knowledge of criminal procedure and rules of evidence.
  • Ability to work with other law enforcement agencies in a collaborative manner.
  • Ability to travel from one hospital to another based on changing investigative priorities.
  • Ability to find and retrieve video from system for investigative purposes.
  • Ability to handle and gather evidence in complex investigations.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Ability to conduct complex controlled substances investigation.
  • Knowledge of hospital data systems (Omnicell, EPIC, Control Check).

Responsibilities

  • Investigates the possible diversion of controlled substances.
  • Assists the Drug Diversion Specialists in audits, training or other DEA regulatory compliance activities.
  • Prepares written reports of investigations.
