About The Position

As an Adolescent Drug & Alcohol Counselor, you will play a vital role in supporting youth involved with the juvenile court system. This position focuses on providing individual, family and group counseling to adolescents struggling with substance use, while fostering a safe, supportive, and restorative environment. You will: Deliver counseling to youth and families in their homes and community settings. Facilitate group sessions that promote sobriety, accountability, and positive decision-making at the Mechanicsburg office. Collaborate with community partners, treatment team, probation officers, and family members to ensure comprehensive care. Document client progress in an electronic health record system and maintain compliance with all reporting requirements. Participate in ongoing training and professional development at our Bethlehem, PA training center. Most of your time during the school year will be working in the early evening hours.

Requirements

  • Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field (preferred); OR Bachelor's degree with experience
  • Experience working with adolescents, preferably those involved in the juvenile justice system.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills to build trust and rapport with youth and families.
  • Ability to be flexible, planful, and supportive in balancing multiple responsibilities.
  • Flexibility to adapt to diverse backgrounds and needs.
  • Qualified candidates will possess satisfactory State Criminal Record Check, State Child Abuse and FBI checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of substance use treatment approaches and restorative practices is a plus.
