The Drops OSP Crew Lead will perform underground missile/bore operations. This position will work on and oversee an underground missile and bore crew, installing conduit, pulling conductor, pulling fiber, repairing wire, restoration and operating other equipment. LEAD RESPONSIBILITIES Oversees Time and Attendance duties, e.g., approving timecards Fiber Manager entries & deliverables on a daily basis Informant to Market Leader on team performance behavior concerns Direct Communication with Market Leader on updates on the daily projects ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES Precise and safe missile operation; able to adapt tooling to ground conditions Manage missile crew members, coordinating work and overseeing safe and productive execution of work. Experience with vacuum excavation equipment and maintenance Calling in utility locates Pothole utilities in missile path Determine path per designs Monitor missile operations, checking gauges and listening to equipment to assess conditions and to determine the need to adjust or alter equipment Maintain and service equipment as necessary Responsible for all restoration Review and redline work prints Assist Project Team with coordination and completion of close-out packages Prepare and update network documentation based on changes in network topology Other duties as assigned KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, and ABILITIES Ability to pass pre-employment screenings (motor vehicle, drug, and background) Experience with fiber installs required Must work safely and follow all OSHA, and other Federal, State, and local safety regulations and company safety rules and procedures Must be able to read design maps Can work independently with minimal supervision Ability to manage teams to complete designated amount of work in a specified time frame (e. g. , quality jobs per day), adjusting work assignments or schedules to meet changing work-related priorities or demands. Ability to climb ladders and work in confined spaces (e. g. , crawl spaces, utility holes) Ability to perform strenuous physical activities including, but not limited to: lifting objects weighing over 100 pounds Ability to communicate effectively with employees, contractors, suppliers, in person, on the phone, and by written communications in a clear, straightforward, and professional manner EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or equivalent required Valid CDL Class Driver License with acceptable driving record At least 2 years of relevant experience required, or an equivalent of education and experience Restoration experience in asphalt and concrete required Experience operating vibratory plows beneficial but not required Experience operating mini-excavators beneficial but not required WORKING CONDITIONS May be required to work long and unpredictable hours including weekends Working outdoors in all types of weather conditions Bend/squat/kneel/stand frequently Exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels
