Additionally, during the growing season, night applications may be necessary.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of Agricultural experience
  • 2+ years of experience operating drones or 250 hours drone flight log
  • FAA Part 107 Remote Pilot Certificate

Responsibilities

  • Operate drones to support various agricultural actives, such as planning seed, monitoring crop health, and applying fertilizers or pesticides
  • Gather data through drone flights and analyzing it to make informed decisions about crop management and yield optimization
  • Oversee the maintenance of drone equipment and troubleshooting any technical issues that arise
  • Ensure all drone operations comply with relevant regulations and safety standards
  • Continuously seek ways to improve drone technology and its application in agriculture to enhance productivity and sustainability
  • Operate agricultural spray drones following FAA regulations and company guidelines
  • Conduct pre-flight checks to ensure the proper functioning of the drone and its spraying equipment
  • Safely handle, mix, and load pesticide and fertilizer chemicals according to label directions and work orders
  • Collaborate with agricultural professionals to plan and execute precise pesticide and fertilizer applications based on crop needs and growth stages
  • Maintain and troubleshoot UAS equipment to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime
  • Monitor weather conditions and other factors that may affect drone operations, making informed decisions to ensure safety and effectiveness
  • Keep detailed records of flights, applications, and equipment maintenance for compliance and reporting purposes
  • Serve as a trusted resource in assisting in the development and improvement of UAS
