About The Position

Will operate a tractor trailer to transport product from one destination to another and returns with either the original trailer or a drop trailer. Inspects Tractor-Trailer for defects before and after trips and submits a report indicating the results of this inspection. Mains a drivers’ log in accordance with DOT regulations and complies with Federal rules and regulations. Check all load related documentation to ensure that it is complete and accurate. Obtain receipts or signatures when loads are delivered. Maneuver trucks into loading positions, following signals from loading crew as needed; check that the vehicle position is correct and any special loading equipment is properly positioned. Will transport product to location, then assist with unloading product manually or with the use of material handling equipment. Report accidents, traffic violations, or damage to the vehicles or trailers immediately. Safety: Promote a safe work environment ensuring that all department employees are adhering to OSHA and company safety policies. Accident prevention must be considered an inseparable part of everyday operations. Set safety goals annually as part of the career/personal development plan and develop action plans to achieve those goals.

Requirements

  • Must live within 65 miles of the warehouse.
  • Valid Class A CDL.
  • Must have at least 18 months verifiable experience driving a 53” tractor trailer.
  • Must be 22 years of age or older.
  • No chargeable vehicle accidents in the past three years.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical and drug screen.
  • Ability to read and speak English sufficiently to perform all duties and functions of the job.
  • Ability to safely operate AWG vehicles, and determine, execute proper cargo and equipment securing procedures.
  • Possess a satisfactory CSA points record.
  • Perform the physical requirements of the job and ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
