The Driverless Support Specialist plays a crucial role in the deployment and management of autonomous vehicles, ensuring operational safety and efficiency. This position involves overseeing the launch and return of self-driving cars, conducting safety checks, and providing support to both the vehicles and the passengers. The specialist will also be responsible for training new team members and managing day-to-day operations in a fast-paced environment.

  • Foster a Safety-First culture
  • Lead the launch and land functions of deploying and returning autonomous vehicles during driverless operations
  • Perform AV cleaning and disinfection
  • Conduct AV operational safety and integrity checks
  • Charge AVs at facilities and public charging sites
  • Prepare AVs for launch including systems fire up and functional checks
  • Park and stage vehicles
  • Manually drive vehicles between facilities and to charging locations
  • Execute ‘Lost and Found' procedures
  • Participate in training and mentoring of new Driverless Support Specialists
  • Work with Customer Support and Vehicle Service teams to assist passengers and return vehicles to service
  • Assist with ad hoc mapping missions and projects
  • Assign Driverless Support Specialists to available AVs and conduct pre- and post-shift briefings
  • Complete required vehicle-checks and train Driverless Support Specialists
  • Organize asset and people transfers between facilities
  • Utilize proprietary software for operational-process completion
  • Maintain inventory of garage materials and cleanliness
  • Monitor communications for troubleshooting and operational necessities
  • Conduct training and audits for Driverless Support Specialists
  • Manage breaks and lunches for Driverless Support Specialists
  • Analyze metrics and provide operational coaching and feedback
  • Take ownership of day-to-day management and on-site performance of Driverless Support Specialists
  • Raise opportunities for improvement and strategize recommendations
  • Ensure success of the shift by meeting service-level agreements and maintaining team morale
  • Assist with special projects across teams to deliver on interdependent KPIs
  • Own ‘Lost and Found' responsibilities as outlined in the SOP
  • Prioritize safety and maintain a safety-first mindset
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and interacting with the public
  • At least 3 years of driving history in the USA
  • Satisfy the MVR requirements
