About The Position

This is a full-time position for an experienced driver at Spec's, located in Fort Worth, TX. The role requires safe and timely delivery of assigned loads to final destinations, operating both independently and as part of a team. Key responsibilities include maintaining a clear driving record, adhering to company standards, and providing excellent customer service. The driver will also be responsible for verifying shipment contents, noting variances or damages, returning damaged products, maintaining route sheets, and ensuring compliance with filing systems for transfer paperwork. Communication with management regarding inventory issues and vehicle feedback is also expected. The position is physically demanding, requiring the ability to lift heavy items and operate industrial machines, and is an onsite role.

Requirements

Valid driver's license.
May need to obtain a Motor Vehicle Report from your license state of issuance if that state does not provide MVRs to third parties.
A Texas driver's license must be obtained within 90 days of residing in the state to maintain eligibility to drive on behalf of Spec's per the insurance company.
Experienced driver that can function as part of a team as well as effectively function independently.
Ability to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
Must be over the age of 21.
At least 1-2 years of driving experience.
High school diploma or a general education degree (GED) (experience may substitute for education).
Ability to read, comprehend and write simple instructions or memos.
Ability to talk and communicate with coworkers and guests.
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in both whole numbers and in fractions and decimals without the aid of calculator or abacus.
Counting skills.
Responsible, reliable, and committed to providing excellent service.
Patience, friendliness, and an outgoing personality.
Self-starter with a strong work ethic who completes job assignments in a timely fashion and then looks for the next task.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
Valid Class C Drivers License.
Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds with proper tools.
Ability to use an industrial machine to move pallets up to 2400 pounds.
Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.
Ability to drive in all types of weather.

Inform manager of inventory issues or discrepancies with invoices encountered on route.
Provide feedback to management regarding issues with delivery vans and box trucks.
Carry out directives of management efficiently.
