About The Position

We’re seeking a Driver to safely transport residents to appointments, activities, and errands while ensuring their comfort and well-being. You’ll help residents get to and from destinations safely, assist with mobility as needed, and provide a friendly, professional presence for our community. Schedule is Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Valid state driver’s license with a clean driving record; CDL preferred
  • CPR/BLS and First Aid certification required
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Meet health requirements including TB clearance
  • Pass state-required fingerprinting and criminal background check
  • Compassion for and desire to work with older adults
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to follow instructions and safely assist residents
  • Familiarity with vehicle operation and basic maintenance logging
  • Ability to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and balance
  • Ability to talk, hear, and use vision effectively
  • Occasional weekend, evening, or night work and on-call as needed
  • Possible exposure to communicable diseases, blood-borne pathogens, and other hazards
  • Ability to lift and assist residents as needed, up to 50 lbs occasionally
  • Frequent interaction with coworkers, residents, and vendors

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience working with older adults preferred

Responsibilities

  • Transport residents safely in compliance with all state and federal driving regulations
  • Communicate professionally with residents, families, community staff, and medical offices
  • Inform residents and staff of pick-up and drop-off times for appointments and activities
  • Follow scheduled routes with minimal changes; provide reminders to residents as needed
  • Assist residents on and off vehicles using lifts, stairs, wheelchairs, and walkers safely
  • Ensure all assistive devices are secured before vehicle departure
  • Help residents with belongings, opening doors, and other mobility assistance during outings
  • Maintain resident rosters and account for all residents during trips
  • Respond promptly to accidents or emergencies according to established protocols
  • Maintain vehicle inspections, license plates, insurance, and ensure timely preventative maintenance
  • Foster teamwork, take initiative, and support coworkers, residents, and visitors
  • Perform other duties as assigned
