About The Position

Successful applicants may be assigned to work any day(s) throughout the seven (7) day week. Applicants are expected to report to work during scheduled shifts, including holidays and during inclement weather conditions.

Requirements

  • A High school Diploma or GED is required.
  • A Minimum of 3 years of commercial driving experience preferred.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a motor vehicle record without open moving violations.
  • Criminal, Child Abuse, and other clearances are required.
  • Must visually observe, hear, understand, and interpret participant behavior.
  • Must be well-organized, detail-oriented, task-driven, and able to work independently, setting daily priorities.
  • Must have qualifying experience driving and operating a large-size passenger motor vehicle.
  • May be required to lift, carry, hold, and/or distribute materials and supplies weighing between 25-50 lbs.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in the human services field with individuals facing challenges such as homelessness, substance abuse, and mental health, or an acceptable combination of equivalent skills and experience, is strongly desired.

Responsibilities

  • Provide transportation for the program, including but not limited to transporting program participants and program supplies.
  • Participate in general staff meetings, department meetings, and training as required.
  • Flexibly cooperate with emergency requests, changes in work schedule, or assignments.
  • Comply with privacy standards related to the collection, maintenance, and use of protected personal information.
  • Follow all traffic laws when operating organization vehicles to ensure the safety of participants, staff, and other vehicle operators.
  • Assist with vehicle inspections and maintain vehicles in clean, serviceable condition. Prepare and complete vehicle logs noting maintenance needs, including checking physical condition, fluid levels, tires, lights, and related equipment to ensure roadworthy operation.
  • Perform minor maintenance tasks as needed and report all findings to the supervisor weekly.
  • Maintain constant surveillance of participants during transport to protect their safety and others’ while traveling to the destination.
  • Physically inspect vehicles before and after each use to ensure no contraband is being transported and immediately report any findings to the Assistant Program Manager.
  • Maintain proper communication regarding participant whereabouts by notifying team members of arrivals and departures at destinations.
  • Notify supervisor and team members of any route/schedule changes.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor or management.
