About The Position

Rock Island Skip-a-Long Childhood Center, part of SAL Family and Community Services and the Quad Cities area’s leading provider of early childhood care and education, is seeking a part time Driver. Within this role, you will do things like: Ensure the safety and well-being of all children at all times. Maintain a neat, organized, and hazard-free vehicle. Ensure that the vehicle is never left unattended at any time while transporting children. Ensure sanitary and safety procedures are followed by all adults and children. Assist children on and off the vehicle if needed. Ensure all vehicle paperwork is accessible and current such as registration, insurance, and accident protocol. Ensure compliance of rules and regulations with the Department of Transportation (DOT). Identify, address, and ensure the proper maintenance of the vehicle is current and in good condition at all times. Actively participate in required training and meetings. Requirements

  • High School Diploma is required.
  • At least one year driving of a multi-passenger van and at least one year in and early childhood education setting.
  • Willing to travel in and out of community and hold a valid driver license which has not been revoked or suspended for one or more traffic violations during the three years immediately prior to the date of application.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
