About The Position

The Driver position involves the safe transportation of individuals to and from medical facilities, ensuring timely arrivals and assisting with boarding and exiting the vehicle, including securing mobility aids. This role requires maintaining the comfort and safety of passengers throughout the journey, communicating with medical staff regarding passenger needs, and accurately recording transportation activities. The driver is also responsible for maintaining the vehicle according to agency and state regulations, conducting routine inspections, ensuring cleanliness, and adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.

Requirements

  • Possess a high school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate.
  • Specific knowledge of fleet or transportation program processes and practices, typically learned “on the job,” or which may include a series of training sessions that would comprise a few weeks if done consecutively.
  • Maintains current knowledge of standards of care and practices as typically acquired through continuing education.
  • A valid state-issued driver’s license is required with an acceptable driving record.
  • Prepares basic correspondence and simple reports in Microsoft Word.
  • Uses Microsoft Excel to create tables and simple displays of information.
  • Creates basic presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint.
  • Demonstrates necessary proficiency with all electronic clinical systems, including EHR and scheduling systems, in use at the Company.
  • Functions effectively in response to workflow or ongoing direction by supervisors.
  • Effectively selects from pre-established alternatives to resolve situations encountered on the job.
  • Able to effectively communicate opinions drawn from conclusions using inference and logic.
  • Exercises tact and diplomacy in resolving mild conflicts or disagreements.

  • Maintains vehicle per agency and state laws and regulations.
  • Conducts routine vehicle inspections to ensure proper functioning.
  • Maintains the cleanliness and hygiene of the vehicle.
  • Adheres to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
