Their primary role is to transport collected materials to disposal, transfer, or recycling facilities once the trucks reach legal load capacity. The position encompasses various driver types: Commercial Drivers are responsible for picking up waste or recyclable material from containers, which can weigh over 1,000 pounds and may require manual maneuvering to a pick-up area. Residential Drivers collect household waste or recyclables in residential areas. Roll-off Drivers prepare, load, and transport large mobile open-top and compactor containers from customer locations. All drivers must navigate high-traffic and congested roadways, driveways, alleyways, and lots, with highly skilled backing maneuvers being essential for successful performance. WM drivers are professional, well-trained, and skilled, working hard and driving safely.
