Overview Driver wanted – MUST HAVE A VALID DRIVER LICENSE!! Homes for Independent Living is seeking Drivers to provide transportation services for our clients. This position will be assigned to a general geographical area and will be responsible to transport adults with disabilities to and from programs and appointments.

Requirements

• A High School Diploma, GED/HSED, or equivalent work experience
• Valid Wisconsin Driver’s License with 3 years clean driving record
• Demonstrates skill and/or potential in working with individuals with special needs in a supportive environment
• Exercising courtesy and maintaining individual dignity
• Exercises good personal judgment, critical thinking skills and punctuality
• Demonstrates professionalism, confidentiality and strong communication skills

Responsibilities

• Provide reliable transportation for clients to their destination including but not limited to community events, leisure activities, day programs, household errands and medical appointments
• Operate vehicle in a safe manner, abide by all State of Wisconsin traffic laws
• Assist clients with getting into and out of vehicle
• Utilize mobile technology to interact with dispatching staff
• Maintain vehicle and client documentation per company standards
• Maintain the exterior/interior of the vehicle
• Adhere to policies and procedures regarding vehicle use and transportation.

Benefits

• Base rate of $15.00/hr. PLUS $1 more Monday-Friday between 2pm-10pm AND $2 more per hour on the weekends
