About The Position

The University of Notre Dame Operations, Events, and Safety (UOES) division is currently hiring for a full-time Driver within St. Michael's Laundry in our campus Operations department. The UOES Division oversees the University's event management, hospitality, and customer service functions, while also supporting student life, academic initiatives, research activities, and annual milestone celebrations. The Driver for St. Michael's Laundry is responsible for the scheduled pickup, cleaning, and delivery of athletic team garments, departmental products, and bed, bath, and table linens. This role ensures the efficient and accurate flow of all laundry into and out of the building. Occasionally, this position may serve as a backup driver for other routes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1 to 2 years experience
  • Previous box truck driving experience preferred
  • A valid Indiana Drivers License is required
  • DOT certification is required for 10,000-16,000 GVW, we will assist with this process

  • Previous box truck driving experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Pick up laundry from various departments on campus
  • Accurately enter pickup information into laundry software to obtain delivery schedule manifest
  • Operate handheld scanner to record deliveries
  • Use laundry proprietary software to sync daily pickups and deliveries and record weight of products processed
  • Wash and clean vehicle as needed
  • Follow prescribed DOT requirements by completing daily mileage logs
  • Use various laundry equipment on a regular basis
  • Use specific wash formulas to properly launder all athletic team garments according to strict cleaning guidelines
  • Use specific finishing processes to ensure proper care of garments
