Forslund Building Supply in Caspian, MI is seeking qualified candidates for the role of a Non-CDL Delivery Driver Job Summary: A Non-CDL Driver operates non-commercial vehicles to transport goods, materials, or passengers safely and efficiently. They are responsible for vehicle maintenance, following transportation regulations, and ensuring the timely and secure delivery of cargo or the safe transportation of passengers. Key Responsibilities: Driving and Route Planning: Operate non-commercial vehicles, such as vans, cars, or smaller trucks. Plan and execute safe and efficient routes for transportation. Adhere to traffic laws, regulations, and safety procedures. Cargo Handling (if applicable): Load and secure cargo onto the vehicle. Verify the accuracy of the cargo against shipping documents. Unload cargo and ensure proper placement at the destination. Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle. Perform basic maintenance tasks, such as checking fluids, tires, and brakes. Report any mechanical issues or malfunctions to the maintenance department. Documentation and Reporting: Maintain accurate records of driving hours, mileage, and deliveries (if applicable). Complete required transportation-related paperwork. Safety and Compliance: Comply with all applicable federal, state, and local transportation regulations. Adhere to safety guidelines and best practices. Complete required training and certifications. Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers or passengers. Provide assistance, answer questions, and address concerns. Qualifications: Valid Chauffeur's license and medical card for the type of vehicle being operated. Clean driving record with no major traffic violations. Knowledge of and adherence to transportation laws and regulations. Physical fitness and ability to lift and move cargo (if applicable). Excellent driving skills, including the ability to navigate different road and weather conditions. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
