About The Position

The Service Technician/Driver will provide hands-on construction support for the Fleet team. Working both alongside teammates and, often independently, this role is a crucial part of ensuring project are completed on time, in spec, and delivered to exceed customer expectations. The Service Technician/Driver reports to the Transportation & Service Manager.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • At least 21 years of age
  • Must have general hand tool, carpentry knowledge and experience
  • Ability to lift 50lbs plus
  • Possess valid Class A CDL commercial vehicle operator’s license with good driving record
  • Must be able to work independently in a fast-paced environment, keeping on-task
  • Be a true team player with a “can-do” positive attitude
  • Good communications skills to interact with internal team
  • Excellent time management skills
  • Have a solid work ethic that includes doing the right thing, being reliable, trustworthy and honest

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of experience with building maintenance and repairs preferred
  • 1-3 years Class A CDL experience preferred
  • Roll-off truck experience preferred
  • Towing experience is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform repairs to mobile trailers and storage containers including framing and basic carpentry, electrical, painting, flooring, plumbing, and all other facets of modular building repair
  • Perform modifications as requested by customers
  • Provide courteous customer service as needed in person/over the phone
  • Ensure trailers are ready for scheduled delivery dates at stated quality levels
  • Complete appropriate paperwork for deliveries, pick-ups and service calls
  • Work with the internal office and yard staff to complete orders
  • Clean, repair and ensure all Wilmot Modular Units and Offices are in working condition
  • Verify the contents of inventory loads against shipping papers
  • Drive a 3+ ton truck to deliver, relocate, and return units to and from customer locations
  • Perform set-ups and breakdowns, install value-added products (ramps, decks, and stairs)
  • Maintain service and safety of our units during transportation
  • Other duties as assigned, being that this position description is intended to be a general overview of the role’s responsibilities and the work performed
