About The Position
Are you someone who enjoys being a dependable, positive presence in people’s daily routines? We are looking for drivers to help transport our team! At OPI, a Driver plays a vital role on our treatment team, ensuring participants and staff arrive safely and on time to their destinations. In this position, you’ll provide reliable transportation between OPI offices, participant apartments, and scheduled appointments, helping support the daily routines that keep our programs running smoothly. You will work closely with—and receive direct guidance from—the Site Supervisor (Transportation Coordinator) while contributing to a positive, supportive experience for everyone you transport.
Requirements
- High School diploma
- Experience in transportation of others
- Ability and willingness to demonstrate empathy and concern with a high risk population
- CA Driver's license and clean driving record
- Must pass TB test
- Willing to become CPR/First Aid Certified and get flu shot
- Familiarity with San Fernando Valley
- Interested in working with young adults 18-30 in a residential capacity
Responsibilities
- Ensure participant safety, welfare, and professionalism; use de‑escalation skills when needed.
- Provide transportation for participants and staff, including airport pick‑ups/drop‑offs, and assist with luggage.
- Operate passenger vans safely, following all California traffic laws.
- Maintain vehicle cleanliness and complete required interior/exterior inspections each shift.
- Report vehicle issues, repairs, accidents, or safety concerns immediately; maintain accurate vehicle logs.
- Communicate regularly with the treatment team and maintain positive, professional relationships.
- Attend required trainings and maintain TB, CPR, and First Aid certifications; perform other duties as assigned.
