About The Position

The Driver position is for a company representative responsible for the safe operation of motorized vehicles, including both automatic and manual transmissions. This role involves transporting or moving vehicles on the lot and properly storing them as instructed. Key duties include adhering to relevant safety regulations and state laws, performing pre-operation checks on vehicle equipment (lights, brakes, horns, windshield wipers), and notifying a lead driver or supervisor of any vehicle problems. Drivers are also expected to perform routine vehicle maintenance such as regulating tire pressure and adding fluids like gasoline, oil, and water. The role may also involve performing errands, such as delivering or picking up mail and small packages, and completing accident reports when necessary. The ideal candidate is safety-conscious, customer-service oriented, takes pride in their work, and possesses a positive, team-focused attitude.

Requirements

  • Must have a valid driver’s license.
  • Must be able to drive automatic and manual cars, light trucks, and vans (non-cdl vehicles) to and from different locations.
  • Must be available to work as assigned between 10-25 hours per week with a varying schedule.
  • Check the vehicle for safe operation PRIOR to driving the vehicle, reporting any safety issues immediately.
  • Follow all road rules and speed limits.
  • Ability to follow a map or GPS directions.
  • Ability to get in and out of a vehicle without injury.
  • Ability to drive both an automatic and manual transmission.

Responsibilities

  • Follow relevant safety regulations and state laws governing vehicle operation.
  • Test vehicle equipment such as lights, brakes, horns, or windshield wipers, to ensure safe operation PRIOR to driving vehicle.
  • Notify lead driver/ supervisor of vehicle problems.
  • Perform routine vehicle maintenance such as regulating tire press and adding gasoline, oil and water.
  • Running, maneuvering, navigating, or driving vehicles.
  • Perform errands for employer such as delivering or picking up mail and small packages.
  • Complete accident reports when necessary.
  • Miscellaneous duties as assigned.
