Friendship is looking for Part Time Drivers to join our Richfield Independent Living team, located in Salem, VA. The Driver is responsible for providing safe, comfortable and timely transportation for residents of Friendship Living, as well as to assist with resident activities as directed.
Shift/Status:
8:00 am - 4:00 pm, Includes every other weekend

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Valid Driver’s License in the state of Virginia
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, color vision and the ability to adjust focus
• Required to use hands and fingers to feel, handle or operate objects or controls; and reach with hands and arms and legs and feet
• This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching all day. The employee must frequently lift or move objects weighing over 50 pounds

Responsibilities

• Transporting residents using the Friendship bus or taxi
• Assist residents with entering and exiting the vehicle in safe manner
• Adhere to scheduled pick up and drop off times; anticipates travel times to accommodate schedules
• Examine vehicles for cleanliness; remove any trash and clean car handles with anti-bacterial wipes after each transport
• Adhere to vehicle maintenance standards; examine vehicles regularly and reports any maintenance or safety issues to Director immediately
• Assist with resident activities as directed
