About The Position

At MTM Transit, we are dedicated to removing community barriers nationwide by providing safe, reliable, and exceptional transportation services. This position is for a Full-Time Driver in Ajo, AZ, in partnership with Sun Shuttle Dial A Ride. We are hiring for both CDL and Non-CDL Drivers. Our core mission is to help the disabled, elderly, and other transportation-disadvantaged populations with their transit needs. Since 2009, MTM Transit, an offshoot of MTM Health, has offered a hands-on management approach to transportation, providing solutions that help public transit agencies increase fixed route utilization, reduce costs, and enhance community access. We are committed to ensuring individuals have access to employment, medical care, and other community resources through reliable transportation. Requirements

High School Diploma or G.E.D. equivalent
Must be 21 years of age or older
Must have and maintain a valid Arizona Driver's license - some positions may require a CDL with passenger endorsement
No reckless driving offenses within the past 5 years
No DUI or DWI convictions
No convictions involving moral turpitude within the past 5 years
Possess valid authorization to work in the United States
Must be able to pass a DOT Physical and pre-employment drug screening
Must pass criminal background check and investigation & Motor Vehicle Record check
Schedule flexibility: Looking for individuals who are available 7 days a week between the hours of 4:30am – 8:30pm (35-40+ hours per week).
Ability to use a tablet, GPS, two-way radio, or other electronic device
Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality
Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions
Ability to understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules
Ability to obtain knowledge of FTA, ADA, and DOT regulations
Familiarity with the main roadways and major highways in the service area

Responsibilities

Provide safe and reliable transportation
Demonstrate excellent defensive driving skills
Provide excellent customer service to both internal and external stakeholders
Must assist with passenger loading and unloading from vehicle
Must assist with any mobility device and securement as required for safety protocols
Ensure the on-time pick-up and drop off of the customer
Demonstrates understanding and sensitivity to the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities
Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and DVI inspections as required
Complete paperwork as required
Utilize tablets or electronic devices as required

Hourly Rate: $19.50; $20.50 (Must have CDL & Passenger Endorsement)
