Full-time position Tuesday - Saturday now available at our Quakertown House Location! JOB RELATIONSHIPS Relates with the following staff, by job categories: Program Director Assistant Program Director Office Assistant Program Nurse/Infection Control Coordinator AUTHORITY The Driver has the authority and responsibility for the transportation safety and well being of the consumer and decisions made in relation to those issues. COMPETENCIES AND PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Competency Communication: Demonstrates behaviors that promote cooperation and teamwork with consumers and staff. Performance Expectations: Uses age-appropriate vocabulary with consumers while displaying compassion, respect, and flexibility to all individuals. Modifies communication to accommodate age-related hearing, visual, or cognitive impairments. Displays concern and courtesy to consumers and staff as well as, external customers providing appropriate information, advice, and assistance. Demonstrates an adequate understanding of behavioral health to recognize emergency situations that may require intervention by the physician, nurse, clinical staff, or program director. Competency Safety: Demonstrates safe work practices appropriate for the position. Performance Expectations Maintains a safe environment for consumer. Picks up and drops off consumer in a timely manner. Observes guidelines of safety and infection control for self and consumers in transit. Demonstrates or verbalized proper procedures in responding to a fire drill, or other internal or external disasters. OTHER ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE EXPECTATIONS Abides by the employee health policies. Attends mandatory training sessions at orientation and annually there after: General Safety (fire and disaster practices); Confidentiality, Abuse and Neglect, Infection Control ACCOUNTABILITY Adheres to all transportation laws as directed by the Commonwealth of PA. REPORTING REQUIREMENTS Reports serious incidents and/or breaches in policy and procedure to the Program Director. Reports to the Assistant Program Director on the most effective ways to structure daily transports so that programming can start and end on time. Assists in tracking consumer attendance as it relates to program participants.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma.
  • A valid PA driver’s license with no moving violations in the last year and criminal background check.
  • Ability to work within a multidisciplinary structure
  • Verbal and written communication skills
  • Maintains a cooperative posture in working with others
  • Maintains an appropriate appearance
  • Able to sit, stand, and walk for periods of time
  • Able to drive a motor vehicle
  • Able to hear ordinary conversation and phone communications
  • Fluent in English both verbally and in writing
  • Literate
  • Able to operate a mid-size van

Nice To Haves

  • A least one (1) year paid experience in a behavioral health setting.
