About The Position

Driver is responsible for transporting clients to and from scheduled appointments.

Requirements

  • Current driver’s license and good driving record.
  • Good interpersonal skills.
  • Strong knowledge of area streets and roadways.
  • Basic mechanical skills.
  • Willing to learn other duties.
  • Good verbal communications skills.
  • Understanding of HIPAA Compliance, and Employee/Client Confidentiality.
  • Licensed driver 21+ years of age with clean driving record required.
  • Experienced in basic map reading.
  • High school diploma or general education diploma, preferred.
  • CPR certification within 90 days of date of hire.
  • Crisis Prevention Training within 90 days of date of hire.
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information to consumers, clients, and employees of the organization in one-on-one situations.
  • Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10’s and 100’s.
  • Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to solve practical problems involving a variety of concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Willingness to learn new skills as needed to perform job functions

Responsibilities

  • Provides safe transportation for clients to and from scheduled appointments as needed.
  • Assures van interiors are kept clean.
  • Assures that vans have gas for other drivers.
  • Reports any maintenance concerns the Director of Operations.
  • Maintains all vans by having them serviced on a regular basis.
  • Assists Director of Operations in communicating to all staff transportation needs by providing orientation and memos with prior approval of the Director of Operations.
  • Assists in the dorm when transportation of clients is not needed under the Supervision of the Recovery Advocates 2 and the Director of Operations.
  • Demonstrates regular predictable attendance and punctuality.
  • Ensures services delivered as in line with the Nexus Mission and Values
  • Other duties may be assigned.
