SUMMARY: The Driver is responsible for safely transporting manufactured cannabis products to licensed retailers and other locations while maintaining the highest standards of accuracy, professionalism, and compliance. This role ensures all deliveries are documented correctly, cash and products are handled securely, and schedules are met with excellent customer service. The Driver follows all company SOPs, state regulations, and security protocols while maintaining a clean vehicle and communicating proactively with dispatch. This position supports the integrity of the supply chain by protecting product quality, verifying documentation, and addressing issues promptly and appropriately. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES (this list is not all inclusive) · Verifies delivery manifests, inventory counts, and IDs of receiving personnel before each handoff. · Follows chain-of-custody procedures and ensures METRC/track-and-trace documentation is accurate and complete. · Secures product and cash in accordance with company security policies and state regulations. · Immediately reports delays, vehicle issues, discrepancies, or security concerns to dispatch/management. · Conducts vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections, documents maintenance or safety concerns. · Maintains confidentiality of routes, inventory levels, and sensitive company information. · Ensures temperature-sensitive or fragile products are transported according to handling guidelines. · Participates in ongoing safety and compliance training, including robbery-prevention and incident-response procedures. · Assists warehouse staff with staging, loading, returns, and reconciliation when needed. · Completes physical inspection of assigned route vehicle and documents findings daily. · Transfers returned/rejected product back to the location. · Adds necessary notes into the system depending on the type of delivery. · Adheres to all applicable California DCC transportation regulations, company SOPs, and security protocols related to cannabis distribution. · Accurately handles and reconciles occasional cash or payment documentation in accordance with company procedures and escalation requirements. · Completes required written incident, accident, or discrepancy reports accurately and timely. · Operates company-owned vehicles only and ensures vehicles are parked, secured, and utilized in accordance with company policy. · Uses assigned systems and technology (including METRC and delivery tools) to document deliveries, returns, and route activity. · Works variable routes and schedules, including early mornings, extended shifts, weekends, and holidays as required by business needs. · Performs all duties as an unarmed driver in compliance with company policy and state regulations. · Accurately records all time worked in accordance with company timekeeping policies. · Operates independently in the field with limited supervision and exercises sound judgment while on route. · Executes ad hoc projects as assigned by direct supervisor. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS · Constantly : sit and operate a motor vehicle; use hands to grasp, handle, and control packages or equipment; maintain visual focus to safely drive and navigate routes. · Frequently: stand, walk, bend, reach, twist, and climb in and out of vehicles throughout the shift; lift, carry, push, and pull items up to 50 lbs using proper body mechanics. · Frequently: load and unload product, move boxes through warehouses or customer locations, and maneuver carts or dollies. · Occasionally: kneel, crouch, stoop, or climb short stairs/ladders while handling product or equipment. · Occasionally: work in changing temperatures (vehicle, warehouse, loading dock, outdoor access points). · Constantly: communicate and hear in order to interact with dispatch, customers, and team members.
